Our Mission
We are a church devoted to honoring God through heartfelt worship, standing on the authority of His Word, and sharing the love of Jesus with our community. Together, we seek to grow in faith, build each other up, and extend God’s grace to those around us, bringing the hope of the Gospel to a world in need.
We Believe
SCRIPTURE
We believe all the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, and that they are the infallible rule of faith and practice.
(2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21)
THE TRINITY
We believe in the one true God eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
each the same in essence and equal in power and glory, though executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of His will.
(Gen. 1:26; Deut. 6:4; Isa. 6:8; Matt. 28:19; I Cor. 8:6;
2 Cor. 13:14; 1 Tim. 2:5; 1 Pet. 1:2)
GOD, THE FATHER
We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love;
that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men;
that He hears and answers prayer;
and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
CHRIST JESUS
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings; His substitutionary atoning death; bodily resurrection; ascension into heaven; perpetual intercession for His people; and personal, visible return to earth to establish his millennial kingdom.
We believe that He is one and the same as God. He is fully human and fully God.
(Isa. 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:27, 30-35; John. 1:1-3, 14; Gal. 4:4-5; Phil. 2:5-11; Col. 1:15-20; Isa. 53; Acts 2:22-36; Rom. 3:25-26; 2 Cor. 5:21; Eph. 1:7; Phil. 2:5-11; Col. 1:15-20; Heb. 1:3; 2:17; 4:14-15; 10:1-14; 1 Pet. 2:24; Zech. 14: 4-11; Acts 1:11; 1 Thes. 1:10; 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Rev. 19:11-16; 20:1-6)
Holy Spirit
We believe God the Holy Spirit is the person who restrains evil in the world and convicts men of sin.
He regenerates lost sinners, baptizing them at the moment of regeneration into the body of Christ, indwells them permanently, seals them unto the day of redemption, bestows spiritual gifts upon each one according to God’s desire, and fills those yielded to Him.
(Matt. 28:19; John 16:7-11; 3:8; 14:16-17; Rom. 8:9;
1 Cor. 12:4-13; Eph. 1:13-14; 4:7-8; 4:30; 5:18)
Man
We believe mankind, both male and female, was created in the image of God for fellowship with God, but sinned, incurring not only physical death (separation from the
body) but also spiritual death, which is eternal separation from God.
Through Adam’s sin all of mankind became partakers of his sin nature. Mankind are sinners by nature and by conduct and, therefore, are under just condemnation without defense or excuse before a Holy God.
(Gen. 1:27; 2:7; 3:1-6; Ps. 51:5;
Rom. 1:18-32; 3:9-20; 3:23; 5:12, 19)
SALVATION
We believe that the only salvation for man is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from human merit, works, or ceremonies.
Salvation is achieved through Christ’s death on the cross, his resurrection, and the justification entailed by this salvation. It is eternal for all to whom it is granted, not being dependent upon human faithfulness or a religious system for its completion.
We believe that it is the privilege of all who are truly born again to be assured of their salvation and to know that they are eternally secure.
(John 10:27-29; Rom. 10:9; Eph. 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7; Heb. 10:12; 1 Pet. 1:18-19; 1 John 5:10-13; 1 John 1:9)
JUSTIFICATION
We believe that justification is the judicial act of God whereby He declares us to be righteous through faith in Jesus Christ.
Justification includes the pardon of sin and the imputation of God’s righteousness and is bestowed, not in consideration of any works of righteousness that we have done, but solely through faith in Jesus Christ our Redeemer.
(Isa. 53:11; Acts 13:38-39; Rom. 5:1, 9; 8:1; 2 Cor. 5:18-21)
SANCTIFICATION
We believe sanctification is the divine setting apart of believers unto God and accomplished in a threefold manner:
first, an eternal act of God, based upon redemption in Christ, establishing believers in a position of holiness at the moment of faith in the Savior;
second, a continuing process of spiritual growth in believers as the Holy Spirit applies the Word of God to their life; and,
third that the final accomplishment of this process occurs at the Lord’s return.
(John 17:17; I Cor. 1:30; II Cor. 3:18; Eph. 5:25-26;
I Thes. 4:3-4)
BODILY RESURRECTION
We believe in the bodily resurrection and glorification of all believers unto eternal life with Jesus Christ and of all unbelievers unto eternal damnation in hell’s fire.
(Matt. 10:28; 25:46; John 5:28-29; 11:25-26; 1 Cor. 15:52;
I Thes. 4:16-17; Rev. 20:5-6; 11-15)
FORGIVENESS
We believe every human being is a sinner, and sin’s just consequence is death. Biblical forgiveness is the release or dismissal of something. The forgiveness we have in Christ involves the release of sinners from God’s just penalty and the complete dismissal of all charges against us.
(Romans 8:1)
Forgiveness is the means to bring about the reconciliation and healing of the relational bond between God and the individual and the individual and other people. The death of Christ Jesus on the cross is the priced paid for forgiveness to take place, and the resurrection of Christ Jesus is the tangible event to prove the promise of forgiveness will be kept. God promises that, when we come to Him confessing our sin and asking for forgiveness, He freely grants it for the sake of Christ.
(1 John 1:9)
Likewise, the forgiveness we extend to others should know no limits.
(Luke 17:3–4)
REPENTANCE & UNREPENTANCE
We believe repentance is the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is a necessary component of salvation. It begins with the desire of the heart, which develops the willingness of the mind, which moves the body to perform the sanctified works to turn from one’s sinful nature in order to live the example of Christ Jesus.
In short, repentance is a change of mind that results in a change of action. Repentance is the fruit of forgiveness that feeds the restoration of the bonds of relationship between the individual and God as well as the individual and other people. Repentance is not a guarantee of a sinless life in this fallen world, but it leads to a life that sins less.
Unrepentance is the sin of willfully remaining sinful. Where there is unrepentance, sin is allowed to break the bonds of relationship without the hope of restoration with God or each other. Unrepentance brings sin’s consequence of death to fulfillment.
(Rom 2:5-9; Prov 29:1; 1 John 1:6; Rev. 9:20-21)
SEPARATION
We believe repentance is the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is a necessary We believe all people are by nature separated from God and responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are freely offered to all by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
When a person repents of sin and accepts Jesus Christ as his/her personal Lord and Savior, trusting Him to save, that person is immediately born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit, all of his/her sins are forgiven, and that person becomes a child of God, destined to spend eternity with the Lord.
(Rom. 12:1-2; 14:13; 1 Cor. 6:19-20; 2 Cor. 6:14-7:1; 2 Tim. 3:1-5; 1 John 2:15-17; 2 John 1: 9-11)
Church
We believe the universal Church is the spiritual body of which Christ is the head. The true Church is composed of all persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
(Matt. 28:18-20; II Cor. 12:12-13; Eph. 4:11-16;
Heb. 10:25).
We believe the establishment and continuity of local churches is clearly taught and
defined in the Scriptures.
(Acts 14:23; 27; 20:17, 28; Gal. 1:2; Phil. 1:1;
1 Thes. 1:1; 2 Thes. 1:1).
ORDINANCES
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church:
1) baptism, and
2) the Lord’s Supper.
We believe in baptism by immersion and communion, both of which are open to all believers in Jesus Christ.
(Matt. 28:19-20; I Cor. 10:16; I Cor. 11:23-34)
GREAT COMMISSION
We believe all Christians are called to live a life modeled after the Great Commission, which was issued by the Lord Jesus Christ.
The primary focus of the Great Commission
is to make disciples of Jesus Christ by baptizing new believers and teaching them to obey all that He has commanded. The work of evangelism and world missions are also crucial to accomplishing the Great Commission.
(Matt. 20:18-20)
